Recent reports reveal that streaming giant Netflix’s platform has secured the OTT rights for Thandel at a substantial price. He added that Thandel will be available for streaming 50 days post its theatrical release, which means its OTT release is expected in the last week of March. Naga Chaitanya will portray the fisherman Raju, a fisherman hailing from a Srikakulam village.
The film’s lead antagonist is played by actor SJ Suryah, and it boasts a strong ensemble cast that includes Srikanth, actress Anjali, actor Naveen Chandra, Jayaram, and many notable performers. Produced by the famous Sri Venkateswara Creations, the film features music composed by the talented Thaman. Amazon’s Prime Video service, having purchased the film’s OTT rights for a considerable sum, has hinted that an announcement regarding its digital release date is imminent. The film, which also stars Kiara Advani as the female lead, had a massive production budget but didn’t quite meet Tollywood Box Office Collection office expectations. The internationally acclaimed Ram Charan was seen in Game Changer, a political drama helmed by director Shankar Shanmugam. According to rumors on social media, Game Changer is expected to debut on the streaming platform on the 6th of February 2025, though an official statement is still yet to come.
