GuestVenkatesh is enjoying great success with his recent project, Sankranthiki Vasthunnam. Earlier today, he made a highly anticipated appearance in Mumbai for the launch of the trailer for his upcoming show, Rana Naidu Season 2. Venkatesh will return as Naga Naidu, with Arjun Rampal entering the ensemble cast in a significant role for the second season. Created by renowned Karan Anshuman, the show centers around the dynamic Rana Daggubati, but it is certainly Venkatesh’s striking and intense portrayal that steals the spotlight in the marketing material. The actor, stepping into his character, made a stylish entrance that set the atmosphere for the event. In his speech at the event, Venkatesh suggested that this new season will emphasize drama over bold dialogues, promising that the thrills will be “pulsating, to say the least”.
Starring a star-studded cast that includes Rashmika Mandanna, Malayalam star Fahadh, character artist Rao Ramesh, seasoned performer Jagapathi Babu, fiery performer Anasuya, and Sunil, the film delivers top-tier acting.
The announcement and teaser are set to be unveiled on February 12, available in three languages—Telugu, Tamil, Hindi. The actor has finished his voice work, and a photo featuring Suriya alongside VD12 director Gowtam Tinnanuri was released by the production team on X this evening. In a noteworthy development, acclaimed Kollywood actor Suriya will be giving his narration for the Tamil version of the VD12 teaser. VD12 is being crafted collaboratively by Naga Vamsi and Sai Soujanya under the banners of Sithara Entertainments and Fortune Four Cinemas, with Anirudh Ravichander composing the soundtrack. All eyes are excited for the release of the promos for Vijay Deverakonda’s much-anticipated thriller VD12, provisionally titled VD12. The announcement read, “In the tale of a KING destined to claim his throne comes a powerful addition. Additionally, actors Ranbir Kapoor and NTR will provide voiceovers for the Hindi and Telugu teasers, respectively. Get ready for Feb 12th!!” The film also features Bhagyashri Borse as the heroine. The superstar @Suriya_offl takes on the role of narrator in the #VD12 Tamil Teaser!
The film’s special extended version, packed with an extra 20 minutes of never-seen-before sequences, has garnered a phenomenal response from moviegoers, leaving trade analysts impressed by its stellar theater run.
Recently, the film’s theatrical trailer sparked controversy due to a lezim dance sequence involving Vicky Kaushal and Mandanna, which was seen as offensive by some devotees of Sambhaji Maharaj. In the wake of widespread backlash, the director opted to delete the entire sequence from the final version of the film. In a recent interview, Vicky Kaushal addressed the contentious scene, stating, “Our intentions were always genuine and good-natured from the start. This sequence aimed to display Maharashtra’s rich culture to the world. Vicky Kaushal’s highly awaited historical drama, Chhaava, is set to release on February 14. Not a single day went by on set without the echoes of Shivgarjana around us.” Kaushal further explained, “Sambhaji Maharaj was a king of the people, and had he been asked to join in a lezim dance, he would have gladly joined. However, honoring the views of Maharaj’s followers, we chose to eliminate the dance from the film.” The movie is brought to life by the production house Maddock Films under Dinesh Vijan. Directed by filmmaker Laxman Utekar, the movie stars actress Rashmika Mandanna in the lead role and is inspired by the life of the legendary Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj.
Initially planned for a Summer 2025 release, the movie’s arrival has been postponed to December 2025 due to delays in filming. Yash will soon headline in the upcoming gangster action drama Toxic, directed by the visionary Geetu Mohandas. Recently, the filmmakers teased at Yash’s powerful new role in the film. The production team is shooting an exciting dance number starring Yash alongside top actress Kiara Advani in Goa. This change in Toxic suggests that fans are in for a captivating experience. According to new sources, Tollywood Box Office Collection Toxic will feature outstanding dance sequences with Yash. The report teases that audiences can expect to see Yash in a rhythmic performance after a significant gap, and hints that the track featuring the duo is poised to become a massive hit. While Yash has established himself as a skilled dancer, his recent films have been without musical numbers. Toxic is being produced by Yash and Venkat K. Additionally, renowned actress Nayanthara will play the role of Yash’s sister in this much-awaited film. Narayana under the banners of KVN Productions and Monster Mind Creation.
The project has generated significant excitement, especially with rumors suggesting that Priyanka Chopra Jonas might take on the lead female role. In a recent exclusive interview with Pinkvilla, Prithviraj responded wittily when asked about his involvement, saying, “Apparently, everyone knows more about this film than I do. Superstar Mahesh Babu and the renowned director SS Rajamouli are coming together for a exciting action-packed adventure tentatively titled SSMB 29. Nothing has been officially confirmed yet, and there are still many discussions to be had. As anticipation rises, speculation regarding Malayalam actor Prithviraj Sukumaran’s role has emerged. Fans are eagerly awaiting final confirmations from the SSMB 29 team. So, once everything is sorted out, we’ll see.” Fresh rumors have also come up suggesting that SS Rajamouli might opt for John Abraham’s name for a role that could possibly replace Prithviraj. Stay tuned for more updates on SSMB 29—this film promises to be a game-changer in cinema! Meanwhile, Prithviraj Sukumaran’s directorial venture L2: Empuraan, featuring Mohanlal in a leading role alongside Prithviraj in a significant part, is slated for worldwide release on March 27th, 2025.
